2025 Goal: $33,000
Unity Medical Center’s current automated CPR device in the Emergency Department is over 10 years old, so the UMC Foundation is will be raising funds for a new LUCAS automated CPR device during this year's Giving Hearts Day.
Last year, Grafton resident Stephen Kliniske was working in his yard when he became short of breath. Concerned, he called Grafton Family Clinic to see his primary care provider Dr. Viscito ASAP.
After running some tests, Dr. Viscito found that Stephen had had a heart attack, and he quickly got Stephen to the ER. From there, he was transported to Altru Health System in Grand Forks, about 40 miles away. He had a quintuple bypass procedure a few days later.
This is one of those stories that we hear often at UMC, and we can't help but think, "What would have happened if UMC wasn't here?"
The UMC Foundation's mission is to financially support UMC so that people can receive health care close to home. Will you help us provide life-saving equipment for our rural region?
Last Year's Impact
Thank you to the 200+ donors who supported the Unity Medical Center Foundation during Giving Hearts Day 2023. These donors raised $32,000 toward a new surgical table that pairs with UMC's new daVinci surgical robot.
